Before he went, he left a note for the party to find, saying he was attending to business. The note's wording, where he left it, and whether anyone found it in play is unrecorded.
The Party

Lantern's Row
Percival went to Lantern's Row, the city he left under suspicion. There he was managing the shipment of goods in and out of the city — the trade corridor work, run from the city end rather than from the road.

The Envelope
An accomplice gave him an envelope. Inside was a letter reading, in substance, meet us at the abandoned chapel.
The accomplice is unnamed and unrecorded otherwise — whether they are one of his Low Lanterns handlers, whether they knew what they were carrying, and how the letter reached them is not known. The letter did not name a sender.
